Calling all fans – football season is finally here! As a Chicago native or previous visitor of Soldier Field, you know how hectic commuting to and from the game can be. Or even how tight Soldier Field parking can get. We have an alternative and traffic free way of getting you to the game and away from the chaos post game!
Water Taxi Service to Soldier Field
Shoreline Sightseeing has a water taxi service beginning late May throughout the beginning of September weather permitting. We may start our water taxi service earlier or later during the time frame given. Please check our website for more information and updates on our services and our water taxi schedule!
Our Lake Michigan water taxi service has three stops: Navy Pier, Buckingham Fountain, and Museum Campus. At Museum Campus, you can find Soldier Field, the oldest stadium in the NFL but also the smallest stadium.
Similar to our Water Taxi service we offer later times for other Soldier Field events such as concerts, we run during NFL games too! Take a boat ride to the game. Avoid the traffic. Enjoy the Chicago skyline. And have fun with other fans when the game starts!
Tickets are available to purchase either online or in person. Check our website or call to see which games we offer our Water Taxi service and their times.
Where to go Before the Game
Just because you’re not parking at or near Soldier Field tailgates doesn’t mean you can’t have fun before the game! Checkout these bars and restaurants located near our Water Taxi dock for some drinks, food, and fun.
Harry Caray’s
Located right across our Water Taxi Dock, find Harry Caray’s Tavern at Navy Pier. Harry Caray was a sportscaster for the Chicago Cubs. Here is one of the best places to pregame and get riled up before the big game.
They open at 11am, a great pit stop before boarding the taxi for a quick one for a noon game. Or even a great spot to come to before a later game, there’s options! Grab a bite to eat, a drink to drink, and have a good time with friends, family, and other fans!
Timothy O’Toole’s
Since 1992, Timothy OToole’s Pub in Chicago has been one of Streeterville’s favorite bars. To get in the competitive mood before the game, test your appetite to the Big Timmy Burger Challenge! Timmy’s has 72 HD TV’s, watch live sports before you head over to the Pier for the game. This is also a great spot to sit back and watch the game if you’re not attending!
Lizzie McNeill’s
A friendly neighborhood Irish bar with stunning views of the Chicago River. Dine either inside where they offer a food and drink menu, or take that menu to their spacious patio for great views!
Plan ahead and make a reservation or make a game time decision if you want to check out Lizzie’s!
Billy Goat Tavern
Right on Navy Pier, head to the Billy Goat for some drinks and their famous cheezborger from the SNL skit! Here is another option with indoor and outdoor seating. Enjoy a couple with views of the lake while you get warmed up for the game!
