Meet Chicago's largest fleet

Uncle Jim Martin wouldn’t believe how much our fleet has grown since he started Shoreline way back in 1939. Today, we operate 11 major touring vessels and 6 water taxis, making ours Chicago’s largest fleet. We’re proud of our boats, many of which we custom-built to offer the best sightseeing experiences for our guests on our Classic Lake, Architecture and Fireworks Tours. Give us a wave when you see our red, white and blue boats on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan!

  • Water Taxis

Our six red, white and blue water taxis are a summertime fixture in Chicago. All are equipped with restrooms and have names that translate into "Let's go!": Skedaddle, ASAP, Giddy Up, Shake-a-Leg, Lickety Split, Gotta Go Now.
  • The Blue Dog

Our most intimate vessel, the Blue Dog is primarily used for our Classic Lake Tours that give our guests impressive views of the Chicago skyline from Lake Michigan.
  • Marlyn

The Marlyn offers comfortable seating and great views of Chicago's fantastic lakefront, making it ideal for our Classic Lake Tours. It's also great for our famous Fireworks Tours which are offered during the summer on Wednesday and Saturday evenings and holidays.
  • Shoreline II

Shoreline II is a traditional lake touring boat devoted to our Classic Lake Tours and our popular Fireworks Tours. Like all Shoreline vessels, it sports our well-known colors of red, white and blue.
  • Cap Streeter

Named for George Wellington Streeter, one of early Chicago's most flamboyant characters, Cap Streeter is designed along the lines of a Lake Michigan steamer. The Cap is used primarily for our Classic Lake Tours and Fireworks Tours.
  • Skyview

The Skyview is the largest vessel we use for Architecture Tours. It was custom-built for Shoreline in 2016, using the latest soundproofing and environmental technology. We operate the Skyview from Ogden Slip from March until December.
  • Cityview

Along with Riverview, this vessel was custom-built by Shoreline Sightseeing to be one of the first tour vessels on the Chicago River pushed by a tug, saving on fuel and opening up better views for our guests. Cityview joined our fleet in 2014.
  • Star of Chicago

Star of Chicago joined our fleet in 1999. Star of Chicago is used for Architecture Tours and Classic Lake Tours on both the Chicago River and Lake Michigan.
  • Voyageur

Voyageur was custom outfitted for our Architecture Tours on the Chicago River, providing unrestricted views from every seat. Voyageur joined our fleet in 2006.
  • Riverview

We custom-built Riverview in 2013 to be the first tour vessel on the Chicago River pushed by a tug. This innovative system cuts down on fuel, results in a quiet operating system and provides our guests unrestricted views of the city.
  • Bright Star

Our largest vessel, Bright Star was commissioned and built for Shoreline in 2003. Like all of our newer boats, Bright Star offers excellent sight lines for our Architecture Tours on the Chicago River or Classic Lake Tours on Lake Michigan.
  • Evening Star

Commissioned and built to our specifications in 2001, Evening Star is adaptable for our Architecture Tours, Classic Lake Tours and private charters. Evening Star operates on both the Chicago River and Lake Michigan.
