What to do Near our Museum Campus Dock

Museum Campus has many things to do for you and your family nearby. Everything is conveniently located, making it feel like a campus. You can include the Museum Campus as part of your plan for the day or base a whole day on campus. Here is what’s available to you once you hop off our water taxi service on Lake Michigan.

Sights to See

Step foot onto Museum Campus and prepare for a day filled with fun and learning at some of Chicago’s tourist attractions. They’re great for kids, teenagers, adults – there’s something for everyone in these museums! When you visit Museum Campus, you aren’t just getting the inside views and fun, all of these establishments lie on one of Chicago’s most prettiest skyline views.

Field Museum Chicago

The Field Museum exhibits offer an insight to customers of different past cultures and what were once practices. The museum has 40 million artifacts for guests to see. They also work daily to find new information for the public’s benefit. Come check out the museums traveling exhibits while they are here – some including Sue the T-Rex Experience, Antarctic Dinosaurs, First Kings of Europe, and more!

Shedd Aquarium

The John G. Shedd Aquarium is home to both saltwater and freshwater animals. Get a feel for stingrays at their Stingray Touch exhibit or stop by their Wild Reef and see what animal life you can spot! If you live on any of the great lakes check out the At Home on the Great Lakes exhibit to see what you might see at your next beach day swim.

Adler Planetarium

Dedicated to astronomy and astrophysics, here you can come across the largest telescope in Chicago. Take off into their upcoming events and shows that the Adler hosts, such as Destination Solar System, Skywatch Live, The Dark Side of the Moon, and more! Soldier Field

Home of the Chicago Bears NFL team and Chicago Fire MLS team is Soldier Field. Even when there are no games scheduled, the stadium is still a sight to see as it is the oldest stadium to date in the NFL association. Other than sporting events, the stadium is also a venue used for artists who are on tour. Some past performances included Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Bad Bunny, The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, Stevie Nicks, U2, and more to come!

While everything is conveniently located near each other at Museum Campus, there is still a decent amount of walking that will be done. Visitors must walk to see the sights and artifacts that fill museums. With walking comes an appetite. You can grab a delicious yet quick bite to eat and follow up with a sweet treat after.

Kim and Carlo’s

Here at Kim and Carlo’s, you can order the famous Chicago style hot dog that comes with the works – mustard, relish, onions, tomatoes, pickles, sport peppers, and sprinkled off with celery salt. If you have yet to try a Chicago style hot dog, this is a great place to try for your first time.

Right in between the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum, you’ll find the tiny but mighty cart with friendly workers happy to serve you goodness!

The Original Rainbow Cone

Just a few steps and small flight of stairs away from our Museum Campus ticket booth lies the Rainbow Cone ice cream truck. A tradition since 1926, layers of chocolate, strawberry, palmer house, pistachio, and orange sherbet make their famous cone! It may sound like a random assortment of flavors, but you will understand once you have your first.

The truck also has other flavors and options to order. Offering ice cream in sugar cones, waffle cones, cups, and two different size options.
