Did you know that in 2018, Chicago became the nation’s craft brewery capital? Illinois Craft Beer Week runs from May 10 thru May 17. Kick off your week with a visit to one of the many craft breweries that Chicagoland has to offer. Click herefor a full list of brewery events. On Friday, May 17, hop on board Shoreline’s Craft Beer Week Cruise and sample craft beers from Revolution Brewing, Right Bee Cider, and Hopewell Brewing. Light appetizer pairings and a live DJ will make the night a perfect way to end the week and kick off the summer season. Tickets for this event are going fast, so get them herebefore they run out.
If you’ve missed the boat for the Craft Beer Week Cruise, have no fear! Shoreline Sightseeing has teamed up with Chicago’s own Revolution Brewing to offer two more 2019 Summer Brew Cruises. The cruises run July 26 and August 23 and will feature seasonal Revolution Brewing selections for sampling. With the late summer dates, you’re sure to get some extra sun and fun while cruising down the river.
By the time September rolls around, you’ll be ready to say goodbye to hot summer days. What better way to welcome in the fall season that partaking in Oktoberfest Chicago? The Beer, Brats, and Boats Cruise is a great way to kick off your Bavarian weekend. Staff from Paulina Market will serve up a traditional German dinner, paired with Oktoberfest brews. If you’ve heard of Paulina Market, you know just how fresh and delicious your meal will be!
But wait! What if you don’t like beer, or you just prefer a nice glass of wine instead? You’re not alone. According to a recent study, Americans consume over 900 million gallons of wine per year. With two Wine Tasting Cruises (July 19 and September 13), you’ll have the perfect opportunity to meet the knowledgeable staff of Lynfred Winery and sample some of their acclaimed wines. Lynfred Winery is the oldest and largest family-owned winery in Illinois. They’ve been creating award-winning wines and memorable experiences for guests for over three decades.
The weather will (hopefully!) be warming up soon and the days are already getting longer. Check out one or all of the special event cruises that Shoreline Sightseeing has to offer and make the most of those long summer nights under the stars.
