SHORELINE SIGHTSEEING SCHEDULES ST. PATRICK’S DAY CRUISES
Chicago, IL: Repeating what has become a popular part of Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities, Shoreline Sightseeing will offer two special St. Patrick’s Day Cruises on Saturday, March 13th — one before and one after the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The pre-parade cruise will depart at 10:00 am, returning at 11:30 a.m. and the post-parade cruise will run from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., both departing from Ogden Slip at Navy Pier. Passengers will cruise the historic Chicago River while dining on a traditional Irish buffet lunch. Cruises also include traditional Irish background music and a special presentation by one of Shoreline’s entertaining architecture docents highlighting the role the Irish community played in shaping modern Chicago. Tickets are $29.00 for adults, $27.00 for seniors and $15.00 for children 12 and under. A cash bar will be available. This is the fourth year that Shoreline is offering their special St. Patrick’s Day cruises. “Our cruises offer a unique way to celebrate this once-a-year occasion,” said Shoreline owner Chip Collopy. “While my family can trace their roots back to Ireland, I think everyone is at least a little bit Irish for St. Pat’s day,” said Collopy.
Shoreline Sightseeing will begin their regular season with weekend Architecture Cruises and Skyline Boat Tours starting April 1. Now in its third generation of family ownership, Shoreline Sightseeing will celebrate its 71st season on Chicago’s waterways in 2010.
