Summer in Chicago would not be complete without attending a festival. Every event is different and offers a little something for everyone. Whether you’re a city native or a visitor, don’t miss out on these upcoming Chicago summer festivals and events!

Taste of Randolph Street


For a weekend of outstanding food and music to benefit a great cause, look no further than the Taste of Randolph Street. Making a return to Chicago’s West Loop for the 16th year in a row, this festival hosts some of the top restaurants in the city as well as musical guests ranging everywhere from independent artists to popular dance acts. While admission is free, a $10 gate donation is requested. All donations are given to the West Loop Community Organization, which allows everyone from residents to businesses to have a voice in neighborhood decisions.

  • When: June 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. June 14th and 15th from noon to 10:00 p.m.

Wicker Park’s Green Music Fest

Designed to motivate and inspire eco-friendly choices through the power of music, green demonstrations, and environmentally conscious vendors, Wicker Park’s Green Music Fest is the premier festival for sustainability lovers. Reflecting on this neighborhood’s cultural roots, this event celebrates talented musical artists, a friendly, hands-on learning environment, and Mother Earth herself. Admission is free, but a $5 gate donation can be made at the gate.

Windy City Ribfest in Uptown


Rib lovers unite! Returning for a 6th year, the 2014 Windy City Ribfest in Uptown will be hosting popular rib-makers from Chicago and from around the world. A Fourth of July weekend of saucy feasting would not be complete without featuring a variety of musical guests, including local artists and national artists. Arts, crafts, and a recreation area will be available for the kids to enjoy every afternoon. There is free admission, but a $5 gate donation benefits the Uptown Chamber of Commerce business partners.

  • When: July 4th and July 5th from noon to 10:00 p.m. and July 6th from noon to 9:00 p.m.
