While the waters of Lake Michigan are getting very chilly, that doesn’t slow us down here in Chicago! Besides Halloween, there are tons of activities and events going on throughout the month such as beer festivals, farmer’s markets (with seasonal fall items), Chicago Bear’s games and different runs/walks for different organizations!
Looking ahead to October, here are a few of our favorite events:
- Chicago Marathon- Sunday, October 13, 2013
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is the highest level of achievement for elite athletes and everyday runners. Runners from all 50 states and more than 100 countries will set out to accomplish their personal dream by reaching the finish line in Grant Park. This spectacular event is not only inspiring and motivating, but great for the whole family!
- Fashion Focus Chicago- October 15-20, 2013
Did you know that the city of Chicago is home to more than 400 local designers and 300 independent boutiques? We love our local fashion boutiques and designers living and working in Chicago!
Fashion Focus Chicago is a week-long celebration of Chicago’s thriving fashion industry that showcases some of its top designers. The city of Chicago will produce runway shows in Millennium Park and fashion events at various locations around the city.
- Spooky Zoo Spectacular- October 26, 2013
There are many ways to spend your Halloween, you could go anywhere from really bone-chilling scares to silly and fun spooks! The Spooky Zoo Spectacular at the Lincoln Park Zoo is an opportunity for families to celebrate Halloween in a free, safe and family-friendly environment. During the day you and your family will have the opportunity to make crafts, collect treats and enjoy entertainment throughout the zoo while dressed in your best or spookiest costume.
- Chicago Film Festival- October 4-5, 2013
Chicago definitely knows all about comedy; after all, we are home to The Second City and Improve Olympics among other comedy clubs. We have seen some of the world’s superstar comedian’s rise to fame from the windy city!
The Chicago Comedy Film Festival is committed to bringing independent and local comedy to the big screen. The mission of the festival is to support comedy filmmaking as an up-and-coming influential art form. Click here to buy tickets! This will surely be a memorable and hilarious night!
