Welcome to THE CAPTAIN’S BLOG. This is the place to go for The Captain’s tips on where to drop anchor and find the best things to do and places to go in Chicago!
Here at Shoreline Sightseeing we’re all about summer fun in the sun! From music festivals to ball games to Chicago’s amazing beaches, there’s always something going on in the city. Here’s a list of some of our August favorites!
Air and Water Show
The Chicago Air & Water Show on August 17-18 is one of the city’s best summertime events. After all, who DOESN’T enjoy a day at North Avenue Beach as jets barrel roll overhead at sound-barrier breaking speeds?! Especially when the show’s FREE! On top of that, the show runs from 10 am to 3 pm each day so you’ll still have time later on to hit the town or take a Night Architecture Tour with us!
The Chicago Jazz Festival, running August 29 – September 1 at Millennium Park, has always been a leader in creating awareness of and appreciation for all forms of jazz and this year won’t let you down! The festival will showcase Chicago’s immense jazz talent and welcome to the stage various national and international artists. Oh, by the way, it’s free. You’re welcome, wallet!
Last but not least, we couldn’t forget the show-stopping, all out rager called North Coast Music Festival in our must-do lineup. Just because you couldn’t score tickets to Lollapalooza, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some of the best acts in hip-hop, electronic, and rock music, August 30- September 1! If your musical taste is as eclectic as your personality, stop by Union Park to check out performances all day! Tickets are $50, but the experience is priceless.

Have fun out there!
