What Will I Experience on a Shoreline Sightseeing Chicago Lake Tour?
The Classic Lake Tour covers the entire downtown city skyline from north to south. We follow a 6-mile path along the shores of Lake Michigan past Navy Pier, taking in the full breadth of the Chicago city skyline as seen from the lake, including:
- The Hancock Building – One of the most iconic of Chicago’s towering skyscrapers, the John Hancock Center was completed in 1970 and is home to the world-renowned John Hancock Observatory.
- The Willis (Sears) Tower – Perhaps one of the most recognizable of all of Chicago skyscrapers is this 108-story, 1,451 foot skyscraper completed in 1973. The Willis (Sears) Tower was the tallest building in the world for nearly 25 years.
- The Shedd Aquarium – The Shedd Aquarium is the largest indoor public aquarium in the world with more than 32,000 aquatic animals. The Shedd aquarium is part of Chicago’s Museum Campus, which also houses the Adler Planetarium and the Field Museum of Natural History.
