Celebrate Halloween With Shoreline Sightseeing and the Lincoln Park Zoo
The animals aren’t the only things going wild at the zoo this fall! Halloween is coming and Lincoln Park Zoo is in full celebration mode with some fun activities and events for the whole family.
Zoovies on the Lawn
Visitors can visit the zoo after hours to experience an unusual outdoor viewing experience – movies on the South Lawn! Friday October 3 (October 10 if it rains), Lincoln Park Zoo will be presenting The Shining and Ghostbusters. Admission is free, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Zoo Ghost Tours
Thursdays in October are for scaring, and the Zoo Ghost Tours are just the ticket to get your heart racing. The after-hours Ghost Tours share the zoo’s cemetery roots in addition to showing off a 19th century “suicide bridge.” You can also find out which animal house is most likely to be haunted! Admission is $24 for members, $28 for non-members, and is open to ages 8 and up.
Spooky Zoo Spectacular
A free, safe, and family friendly way to celebrate Halloween, attendees can find out more about the animals, make crafts, enjoy tasty treats, and listen to upbeat entertainment throughout the zoo facility, all while dressed in their Halloween best! From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be toddler activities located in the Regenstein Center for African Apes as well as family entertainment on the main stage. Navigate your way through a haunted house, trick-or-treat, or create arts and crafts in the Kovier Lion House from noon to 2 p.m.
Zoo Hours and Location
The Lincoln Park Zoo is convenient to the water, located just off of Lakeshore Drive and Fullerton Avenue, within walking distance of N. Cannon Drive. Visit September–October from 10 a.m.– 5 p.m. (gates are open from 7 a.m.– 6 p.m.)
