Breweries in Chicago to Explore
Ever since the prohibition days, Chicago has been a city known for its beer selection. Home to famous breweries like Goose Island and Revolution Brewing, the Windy City is at the forefront of the craft beer movement. If you’re a beer-lover in search of a fun summer adventure, we recommend checking out some of these popular breweries in Chicago!
Piece Brewery and Pizzeria
Nothing goes together better than beer and pizza, and Piece Brewery knows this. Grab a slice of homemade thin-crust pizza and pair it with a Golden Arm (a German-style Kolsch Bier), a Camel Toe (a hoppy double IPA), or a Beer in Progress (pale-ale brewed American-style). Piece Brewery hosts live karaoke every Saturday night at 11 p.m. so you can enjoy outstanding beer, dinner, and a show!
Piece Brewery and Pizzeria is located at 1927 W. North Avenue in Wicker Park, Chicago.
What started off as a modest 60-barrel brewery back in 2010 has now become one of the largest craft breweries in Chicago! Year-round Revolution staples include the ever-popular Anti-Hero IPA, the Belgian-style white ale known as Bottom Up Wit, and the dark, strong Eugene Porter, which is a chocolate malt. 60 different beers are brewed every year, but only half of them are available at the Revolution brewpub.
To enjoy exclusive Revolution beers and good food, visit the brewpub at 2323 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square, Chicago.
Half Acre Beer Company
Known as the first Chicago brewery to can its beer instead of bottle it, Half Acre Beer Company takes no chances when it comes to the quality of their product. For $10, visitors to the brewery who are 21 and over can take a tour at 11 a.m. every Saturday. Get your very own up-close look at how their Daisy Cutter Pale Ale, Gossamer Golden Ale, and Pony Pilsner, among others, are all made. However, keep in mind that lines for the tours start outside and only 60 attendees are able to partake in the tour. Get there early to make sure that you aren’t left out!
Half Acre Beer Company can be found at 4257 N. Lincoln Avenue in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago.
